Brawl Stars is one of the most addictive games in the world right now. It has polished gameplay, cool characters, and a competitive ranking system that keeps us playing for hours. But! But! But! Every player knows the struggle.
You know the feeling. You grind for weeks just to get enough coins to upgrade one Brawler. And that Legendary brawler you’ve been wanting to unlock for months? It can take months of grinding credits to unlock them. It feels like you are always one step behind, no matter how much you play. And don’t even get me started on how expensive the cool skins are.
This is where Null’s Brawl comes in. Null’s Brawl is the most popular private server for Brawl Stars. It promises a world where unlimited is not cheating, but is a normal feature. But is it better than the official game? Is it safe? And does it lag?
In this comparison, we are going to break down the difference between the official Brawl Stars and Nulls Brawl. We will look at the resources, gameplay, servers, and safety, so you can decide if you should make the switch or switch to the official.
What are Brawl Stars and Null’s Brawl?
Brawl Stars: It’s the official game made by Supercell. It’s the version you download from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. It’s stable, has millions of players, and it is where the professional esports tournaments happen.
Null’s Brawl: It’s the private server. That means it’s a modified version of the game that runs on a separate private server owned by the Nulls team, not Supercell.
Because they run on different servers, you can’t play Nulls Brawl with your friends who are playing official Brawl Stars. You are in two different worlds. If you download Nulls, you are only playing against other players who also have Nulls.
The Grind vs The Instant

It’s the biggest reason people download Nulls Brawl. The resources. How you get gems, coins, credits, and brawlers is completely different.
Brawl Stars – The Long Grind
In the official game, progression is slow on purpose. Supercell wants you to play every day for years or spend real money.
- Unlocking Brawlers: You have to collect credits from the Starr Road. Getting a Legendary brawler can take months of playing.
- Upgrading: You need Power Points and Coins. Most free-to-play players struggle to get enough coins to max out their favorite brawlers.
- Gems: Gems are very rare. You get a few gems from the Brawl Pass. But if you want a lot, you have to spend real money.
Nulls Brawl – Everything is Free
Nulls Brawl removes the “grind” from the game. When you open the game for the first time, you will see something crazy:
- Unlimited Gems: You start the game with 1,000,000 gems. If you run out, you just restart the game, and they come back.
- Unlimited Coins: You have unlimited coins to upgrade every single brawler to level 11 immediately.
- Instant Unlocks: You don’t have to wait. You can go to the Shop and use the Shop Commands (buy the 1-gem offers) to unlock & upgrade all brawlers instantly, along with skins, pins, sprays, and profile icons. Check out the Nulls Brawl Commands article for the full list of commands.
Gameplay & Server

Having unlimited gems is cool, but it doesn’t matter if the game doesn’t run smoothly.
Brawl Stars – Smooth & Fast
Supercell is a billion-dollar company. They have servers all over the world.
- Ping: Very low. You press the Battle button, and the match starts instantly.
- Matchmaking: Because millions of players play, you can find a match within 5 seconds. The game also matches you with players who are the same trophy level & league as you.
- Bugs: Very few. The game is polished and rarely crashes.
Nulls Brawl: Expect Some Lag
Nulls Brawl is run by a small team of fans. They don’t have the same money or resources as Supercell.
- Lag: Depending on where you live, you might feel a delay.
- Matchmaking: It is fast, but in some game modes, it can take time. Also, you might be matched against a total beginner or a pro player.
Skins & Cosmetics

Do you love how Mecha Mortis or Phoenix Crow looks, but you don’t have money or gems to spend on them?
Brawl Stars: In it, skins are the main way Supercell makes money. The coolest Legendary and Mythic skins are expensive. You have to save up Bling for months to get just one skin.
Nulls Brawl: Every skin is available for free. You can equip the most expensive skins in the game on day one without paying a single penny.
Updates & New Content

Who gets the new stuff first?
Brawl Stars always gets the update first. When a new Brawler like Draco or Kit is announced, they appear in the official game immediately after the maintenance break.
Nulls Brawl takes a few days to catch up. The developers have to wait for the official update to come out, look at the code, and then modify it for their private server. Sometimes it takes 24 hours, sometimes it takes a week. And if you are an iOS user, it can take even longer. (Check our Nulls Brawl iOS guide for help with that.)
Is It Safe? Will I Get Banned?
It’s the question everyone asks: “If I play Nulls Brawl, will Supercell ban my main Brawl Stars account?”
The short answer is no. Because Nulls Brawl is a separate app (it has a different package name on Android), it does not overwrite your original Brawl Stars game. You can have both apps installed on your phone at the same time.
Conclusion
So, who is the winner? It really depends on what you want. If you like playing with friends, ranking up, and earning your rewards, stick with the official Brawl Stars. It is smoother and feels more real and rewarding. But if you just want to mess around with maxed-out brawlers and free skins, Null’s Brawl is the perfect choice. And why not keep both? Use Nulls Brawl to practice or mess around, and use Brawl Stars as your main game to push your rank.
